Locking placement in Illy

When I align things both piece move in the middle of each other. Not like flexi when the first piece you select stays there.

Any idea how to get that result in illy?

The first piece you select should stay put unless you are "drag" selecting them.
click to select, Shift click to select second object, the first object should stay where it is.

No I shift-selected and it still doesn't stay put! I'm on CS as well.

It only stays put if you do anything except center align either way.. that's the problem i'm having!

Alt - Click

Select all the item(s) you want to move --either "drag" selecting or SHIFT clicking.

Hold down the ALT key, (OPTION on MAC) and mouse click on the part you want to align everything to.

...(release the ALT key)

Then, from the ALIGN menu, select your alignment preference.

That should work.
