looking for parts sc500 (print head, capping station, pump, etc)

Hey everyone,

As most have you seen I purchased a wonderful sc500 that has been giving me troubles, I finally got it powering up, but I think I need to rebuild the entire ink supply system. If anyone has any parts laying around I'd be interested in them. Looking at cmykparts they make a refurbish kit. Basically I think this is what i all need.

2 print heads
Capping station
pump

Also If someone could give me some direction on the cleaning cartridges. I'm looking for a cost effective solution for this. Its all new to me and learning as I go. Any insight would be appreciated. When the machine powers up it goes through a cleaning cycle and just seems to loop itself.

Let me know what you guys got. I"m eager to get this thing rolling, but like everyone trying to save a buck or 2.

We bought a CJ-500 converted to Eco Solvent a year ago that had been sitting forever. We redid EVERYTHING.
http://www.solventinkjet.com/ is your best source

They have the print heads but they are $737....

Pump $63.50

Capping station $141

Ink line $1/foot

BUT and here's the kicker, we ordered the dampers and they have the wrong O-Rings, their customer service was great and sent us 10 of every single size O ring they had in stock. NONE were right, we checked a dozen printer sites and just plain O Ring sites but nobody had them. Finally gambled $12 on a set of Dampers off ebay from China and they fit and worked perfectly.

I wouldn't recommend to put new heads on SC500 unless you really want to. These printers are out of date. I would pick up a used Roland SP540V, VP540 for cheap and change parts from there. The speed, the reliability and generic ink are plenty out there. I am not sure if Roland still supply ink for SC500. I am pretty sure they don't sell mainboard for that printer. And many generic ink suppliers don't support that ink either. Best to you.

I probably would not spend retail on print heads for it either, but there are some on ebay out of hongkong for $150 lol. And we used ebay eco solvent ink in it with no issues.

We just recently upgraded to a Mimaki and using bordeaux all the way, but on the 13 year old Roland meh...

Also for cleaning it, any local Sherwin Williams will have butyl cellosolve, we used 4 parts of that 1 part acetone.

eBay protects/favors buyers. Buy that part from eBay, if it does not work, return for a full refund. It has 30 days money back guarantee. We are a premium Bordeaux ink dealer from Los Angeles. If you need more information on the ink for DX2 printhead, I can ask Bordeaux for you. Search "bordeaux" on the forum. You would see a lot of feedbacks.

Thanks for the feedback guys. This printer was converted already, which in my mind made it worth the investment. I just want to get it up and going to send down the road. Found a mutoh in my price range I'm gonna scoop up. And I figure this one functioning covers the cost of that. Pump got the ink flowing. But now black just dumps and cyan prints. No yellow or blue really. Gonna try a new capping station and lastly new heads.
