AZ Looking to buy Roland Take-Up unit for an SP540i

I have a Roland SP540i that I picked up not to long ago. I am really interested in getting a Roland Take-Up unit for it as to take advantage of the print/cut to take up features when using the custom cut setting in VersaWorks. If there is anyone that might have a machine that they are not using the take up unit on or if there machine finally died, I would love to get my hands on at least the Take-Up.

Please let me know if you have one and we can talk price.

Thanks!

For print and cut jobs the Roland take up isn't worth the hassle in my opinion. You can use TU2 mode then set it up in versaworks to take up and unwind but if you have lots of different length jobs and just want to print and cut them onto a take up roll, it's an extra step for every job. Also if you have long cut jobs, it will still allow the vinyl to touch the floor because it doesn't take up during cutting.

We use the cheap take ups that have a motor on each side and a clutch type device on each motor. Simply tape the vinyl to the core when it's long enough to reach, then switch on the take up. The clutches allow the vinyl to be pulled back through the machine during cutting, and take up the vinyl fast enough so it doesn't hit the floor.
