Looks like we are buying a new 1324

Well as everyone knows we purchased a used mutoh 1324 from a printing company that closed down. Little did we know that it was stored in a very hot building for around 5 months. After talking to many MANY techs and service centers we were told if they were going to come work on it they would only do i if we agreed to replaced the Head, Maint station, Dampers and all the lines. Now with that being said i would also inquire labor and a pretty good amount of travel since no one is close to us.
So we have found a couple good deals on a brand new 1324. I guess that you live and you learn sometimes. I still only think the dampers are bad but just to be safe since this is part of our lively hood we would rather be safe than sorry.

So ill have either a machine or parts if anyone needs them haha.

DIY Printer Fixing Guide
How long have you owned this machine and was it new out of the box? If it was new and it has been less than 2 years, call Mutoh and they should hook you up with Bell and Howell to come out and service the machine for free. Just because your dealer is not around does not mean your warranty is invalid. Mutoh is generally good about this kind of situation in my experience.

Even if the machine is old and out of warranty, these machines are still very new comparatively and have value. The only thing I can think of that would require replacing all of those parts is if the machine sat with ink in it for that time period. It shouldn't be too hard to fix either way. I refurbish ValueJets all the time and I have only found 1 that was unworkable due to being very old and very poorly taken care of.

If you still want a new one, give us a call and we will give you a trade-in credit on your broken one.

As of now we have put the new machine on hold. New dampers, flushed head, new encoder, new o-rings on all lines, and we are up and running. Now if i could just get the colors to not look muted but again that may be me since i have never used a digital printer before. Testing with Oracal 3165 and the same on the icc profile. Black for one look light to me.

Attaching a image but it may be hard to tell. K is at 100% on the color setting.

I will give that a try and see. When i am creating for solid color vinyl i have never been as worried about the black so i guess it would make since.
