Lost Power, Printer Not Responding

We just lost power for about 2 hours at our building. We got power back but our Mimaki CJV-130 will not power back on now. The green button in front is flashing quickly. Has anyone experienced this problem?

I would unplug the machine from the wall for a few minutes and replug it in and see then if it turns on, maybe it reset something

I don't think an Epson printers waste ink counter reset procedure will do anything for their Mimaki. Best I can also guess is the power flickered when going out or coming back on which freaked the printer out. Hopefully unplugging it for a few minutes will reset it. If not my guess would be the mainboard got fried. A commercial grade battery backup (they also provide great surge suppression) is a good investment.

I would unplug then plug back in. If it still doesnt work I would try another plug to make sure there wasnt a surge in that plug. Also I would suggest a backup battery box which is what we bout for only $249 incase power ever goes on it automatically comes on for like 12 or 16 hrs I believe to prevent further damage

I hope you get it back working without having to purchase a Main board or Power board, but you need to take this warning seriously, and get protection for your printer.

I want to take this opportunity, to Highly Recommend to all who read this, it is way cheaper in the long run to purchase a power (battery) backup with voltage regulation and good surge protection built in.

My SP540v and the computer work-station that drives it are both powered through an APC smart UPS 2200net, with power conditioning that protects connected loads from surges, spikes, lightning, and other power disturbances.

This unit saved my printer when we were in a medium rain event, and all of the sudden, BAM, lighting hit
very close by, all the lights flickered and the power went off, other items not connected to the UPS experienced problems, however, I noticed all the lights on the smart UPS control panel flashing as it was dealing with the spike in power and then went into battery back up mode for a few minutes, when the power came back on, the smart UPS switched back into normal mode.

I read on signs101 a while back that someone here purchased a used one on ebay, so I searched ebay and got a good deal also, mine didn't have batteries when purchased, but that was a good thing, it made shipping cheaper, and I was able to purchase 4 new batteries, so I will be well protected for at least a few years as batteries last about 3-4 years.

The power supply ended up getting fried. It was still under warranty so we had it replaced for free. I just picked up a backup battery, tested it and it seems to work great.

Anyone who has come across this thread and does not have a battery backup for their printer, BUY ONE! Learn from my mistake.

I'm back up and we didn't lose too much $$ over this. It came at a time when we were pretty much caught up so thankfully I didn't get too far behind.

Good to hear you are back up and I glad to hear you were covered for the cost of the main board!

Yes, I hope folks on here can learn from this (and many others) lessons, a spike or surge can play havoc to high end electronics components.

It's better to be PRO-ACTIVE, and use the proper battery back-up/surge protector.
