Louisiana Sign Contractors License

So this is what i need to get if anyone has one can they tell me what i need and how to get it apparently no one at the Louisianan office likes to answer there phone so the website doesn't give any info on how to obtain a sign contractor's license just a general contractors license

never heard of a sign contractor. Lived in slidell for 25 years and never once heard of one for signs.

i just found out after trying to get a permit for a monument sign installation luckily i have someone that can get the permits that is going to install my LED signs.


BUT apperantelly All signs require a sign contractors license in the state of LA.

The classification for signs is:
7-85 Signs, Scoreboards, Displays, Billboards (Electrical & Non-Electrical)

electrical signs yes you need electrical contractor
but others,, not that I remember..

edited, I see it has been amended since feb 5 2013. But the regs are not clear in defining what type of signs..

I would go to the local city permit dept and ask for the details.
