LXi 6.6.1 - Possilbe on 64bit?

I just lost my old computer that was W7-32bit and I was able to run LXi 6.6.1 on it without any problems.

I now have a W8-64bit system and am unable to install due to compatibility issues (32 to 64 bit).

Is there a way to still make this software work on a 64 bit system?
Or do I have to upgrade to the latest version which after looking at the pricing is not in my wallet to spend.

I have to wonder if it's less of an issue of 32 bit versus 64 bit as much as it is due to the OS. I run 32 bit programs (Wilcom) without any problems on Win 8 Pro.

It could be. I was able to install on W7-32 without error, but it fails with a message regarding 32 - 64 bit, but that may not be exactly the issue and could be related to the differences between W7 and W8 on a core OS level.

At that point, is there possible way to run LXi 661 on a W8-64 system?
