LXi Master+ Production Manager error...

My LXi (rebadged Flexi) has been working fine until a week ago. Suddenly, I can't send files to my Panther cutter because my production manager times out on loading. The production manager loads fine if I don't open LXi, and visa versa, but they won't run at the same time. I uninstalled the program and now I can't get the program to reinstall! I see the popup window saying 'extracting/loading files' and then it just stops, no further activity. I tried shutting down my AV program because it sees LXi as a virus but that didn't work either. Several reboots and AV disables later, I still can't get the stupid thing to load. I uninstalled and reinstalled my security dongle and tried again but still no go. So now I can't use my cutter, which is killing me.
Any ideas or suggestions? This is a clean windows XP home install, with only my design programs, cutting software, and business files on it.
No viruses or adware, etc.

If you have Nortons on the machine it is the problem, I do not have machine with Nortons anymore so I do not remember what I did. But if you do a search you should be able to find info on this.

I don't use Norton, so this shouldn't be an issue. Currently, my antivirus, adaware, and firewall programs are all shut down in an effort to reinstall the LXi program.

Production Manager keeps timing out
If this starts after you just install the program, check for an icon for the Production Manager on your desktop and also check if it listed under the Start menu, Programs, and Flexi or PhotoPrint. If it is not, the Production Manager did not get installed. To install the Production Manager put in the Flexi installation CD and when you are asked which components you want to install, make sure that just Production Manager is selected.

If the Production Manager is installed and you are having problems connecting to it, in the program, go to the Edit menu, Preferences, select the Tools tab, click Cut/Plot (Flexi) or RIP/Print (PhotoPrint), and deselect Connect to local Production Manager using TCP/IP

thanks for the tip. I will definitely look into that next time. For now, the problem is getting LXi to reinstall...

Some antivirus/spyware/etc programs, even though you disable them can still cause conflicts. My suggestion would be to temporarily remove your protection programs, then try installing lxi again. If it works, you know its one of those programs and you can reinstall one, try lxi to see if it still works, if it does, move on to the next, if it doesnt you know its that program that is conflicting with it.
