Mac Imprint communication error

Hi, i was wndering if anyone could help with an issue one of my clients has, they recently had to update their old Imac to a new one and they are using Mac imprint v 2.2. The software installed ok onto Mac OS 10.6 but they use USB converters to both the Edge 1 and a GSX15 plus plotter and cant get communication through the ports. has anyone come across this issue before?

They might have to update their USB converters by going to their websites.

Sorry John, but i might need to clarify a little on the USB side. they have 2 x USB cables that run off the Imac and are a USB cable on one end with a parrallel plug on the other with a USB to a serial plug on the other, direct wired not running through a converter. Unsure how this works?

It would seem that once the customer updated and reinstalled the USB drivers they got there communication back, however i have another issue related to Mac Imprint. the software say's when they go to print " cannot find ICC profile " we have checked the new Mac against the old one and the profiles for Mac Imprint are there and located in the same location on both Mac's.
any idea's?

They should be here on system level, Library>ColorSync>Profiles.
That's where they are on my G4, OS 10.4.11

I never tried installing Illy 10 on my MacPro. This could be interesting, keep us informed on their progress.

Hi Bill,

update on this problem is: We have re installed the software on a G4 power Mac running O.S 10.4 and software and communication is all back as are the profile issues working also. It would seem to me that the Mac Imprint software does not like the Intel based Mac's. Good lesson learned.

I seem to be getting more requests for MI info again. Maybe, now that Gerber's refocusing on thermal, it might be time to request them to update MacImprint.
