Magnetic Fundraising Thermometor

One of my customers would like to have one of these about 6-8 ft tall...He wants the little increment pieces to be able to attach magnetically somehow...any ideas of what to use for the thermometer substrate?

24 gauge steel sign blank. Print direct or mount vinyl to it.

Or use your normal substrate and attach some strips of A or B pole mag (see Fellers catalog), and use the opposite on the increment pieces.

I just got done making one of them a couple of weeks ago, I used 1/2 MDO, and glued a peice of steel to the mdo and made the thermometer out of magnetic.
