Magnets on aluminum vehicles

What are people doing since magnets don't stick to aluminum?
Last week I had a company come to me and we sold him wallfrog material. Its a temporary thing. Now I just had a car dealership come to me with the same problem and they want something for parades. Will I be ok using wallfrog? Never used it outdoors before.

thanks!

For parade graphics on the new aluminum trucks we are doing basic squares w/ rounded edges or something simple on oracal 3651/3641 and having the customer just pull all 4 corners back and apply just the corners.
Easy on/ easy off and easy enough for them to apply without messing up.

They Can get it in.... We Buy it from Fellers, Grimco, N.Glantz, or Toryon typically.

Its a really cool product: we use it for temp signage on glass, drywall, metal, floors, etc. we love this stuff!

It sticks over dirt and grime and if it gets too dirty your client can clean it with soap and water. Don't use alcohol to clean it though as it removes the adhesive.

What about something like "glass adhere"?

I have tried phototex and either the sample rolls i get suck or what but they always ripple when printing. Media doesn't stay with backing.

Tried the glassadhere and mounted to coroplast outside and it last about a day. So not willing to try that on a customers vehicle.

The glassadhere might have failed because you put it on a porus surface with channels in it. This might make the suction tech not work. From what I understand GlassAdhere needs a hard, non porus surface. Like glass, or painted aluminum. It is using a suction cup technology so if there is a way for air to get in, it will and the glass adhere will release from the substrate. Like glass, or painted aluminum or wood.

Thats what i figured but they state it works for it.

You must be doing something wrong or else you have a major humidity problem. We run rolls and rolls of phototex here w/o issues. We had a roll separate from the backing/ripple for the first few feet after being stuck in a corner for a year once, but it was near where there was a leak under a wall when it rained really heavy so I think the backer picked up a bit of moisture.

I once made a phototex "wrap" for a box truck's sides that sat in a parking lot for a month every summer, and then we removed it and put it back on the backer until the next year. We re-used that same wrap for three years w/o any issues until they discontinued the event. (we just put a patch over the year part the following years)

i use phototex for parade "magnets". never an issue, and clients LOVE how little effort it is to install/remove them after a day or so of advertisement. ...and they can be rolled-up on themselves and stored for re-use, if desired.

I just inform the client that they will hold water/moisture on the side of the vehicle like a damp cloth, if it gets wet.
Which is only an issue in some scenarios.

noted: pain in the butt to print&cut, as it is a fabric-like material, but I just double-cut the same path. pic shown of a donated "package" of phototex logos I mailed to a friend in Chicago for a charity event at a Mini dealership. I think they sat outside for a week, mostly in the rain, before finally being removed.
