I did some mail order in February, and now, 7 weeks later, the customer is saying that everything isn't in the box, but, he didn't call me about this problem, he went to payal first. Paypal, put a hold on my funds, for 350 dollars the decal sale amount. Paypal waited patiently, before they informed me.. Until money was deposited, then they did a crafty..-- snatch and grab" ( ironically for exactly the amount they needed.)
I realize this is a normal part of doing business, and although, I have done a somewhat substantial amount of mail order. I have fortunately never had many problems.
If the customer related this incident to me, I maybe should go the extra mile and send him some more graphics, but now, I'm at his mercy. My funds are held, I can send him more decals, but whats to say that the customer is legitimate with his complaint will act according to good principle ? Maybe he messed up putting on the graphic or something.I don't know.
Most businesses tell you to immediately report an incomplete order, within 7 days or so. This package was delivered 7 WEEKS AGO.
To be fair, I must add that the customer was on vacation, that's why he got to it late. I wish he had called me, so I could hear his voice, to get more of a feel for whats going on. ( he must be shy or something)
So paypal has me under the gun for the 350 dollars, for a so-called missing item in a package 7 weeks ago. Don't us vendors have a right to know about missing items sooner? I have a 7 day policy on this. It looks like me and Paypal, may be getting a divorce, if they act unfairly.
I am wondering, how far paypal or the customer's credit card company will view this 7 week delay thing and please....no get a lawyer jokes. lo.
P.S. This is not from Ebay, its my own web site.
