Making custom shaped label for a circle lid

Hey guys, I have a request for some labels to be placed on trash can lids.

They will need a few dozen about 12"x2.5" in size to go around a lid like this.

What's the best way to get this designed right, I put this photo in flexi and began to trace and still am not seeing a correct sizing result.

on top of templating, dont forget that most vinyl wont stick to that low-energy plastic

I did a test piece of the digital vinyl being used and it sticks decent for being on this material. I will give them a alternative for 3651 and then some for the GF HTAP vinyl but with the pros and cons of each.

Measure it again then if you're not "seeing a correct sizing result".

Have you scaled the photo to actual size?
