Making dowel pocket...

Hello members..
When making the dowel pocket for a banner I used to send it out for sewing. This is a proper way to do it. However because of the timing issue I have to do it in our shop with double sided Sakura white tape which is a big mistake. It failed. I could use the HH-66 glue but it is too messy and it melted the ink on the other side of the banner. Did you have a trick or know of any kind of tape that can hold the pocket?
Thanks

Ps: I've searched entire site but found no similiar posts.

Making America great, one sign at a time.
if your ruining both sides with HH66, you are guilty of two things.
1. way too much glue.
2. using the skinniest, lightest banner material

When i do double sided, i use 20oz scrim and leave a naked space for WHERE the glue goes. i also mask the area to keep the glue from infecting the ink area.
doe sthis take longer? absolutely. does it hold better than tape? yup.
BONUS.
i use this same procedure with banner mesh as well.

I love this forum... You guy are great and way too fast.
@Gnatt66: I will try VHB tape as your suggestion. Thanks
