Need Help Matching vinyl to pantone

Help!! I am trying to match as close as possible a vinyl color to pantone # 7683 a blue. My pantone chart is a bit older and doesnt have that blue in it. Hopefully a close match from the avery or 3m is fine. Which blue is the closest???? Thanks!!

i would go with Persian Blue 117 but you have to remember these are on screen colors and they might differ from the actual color a bit. it might be best to get a sample of the closest ones and go from there.

That looks very similar to something like a medium blue that I've used in the past, but I can't remember who made it. If at all possible, you should try and get samples or a new color book and let the customer decide on the vinyl option.

Arial Sucks.
Question: is the vinyl color opaque high performance or translucent?

In high performance Gerber's Periwinkle (220-387) is fairly close. There's nothing in the 3M/Gerber translucent range (230/3630) that is even in the ball park to Pantone 7683 C. I'm going by my physical Pantone Plus Series swatch books.

In Avery the closest I see in hue for high performance is Tropical Blue A9503-O, but it's a step or two lighter (the book says it's a match for Pantone 297 C although actual Pantone 279 C is less purple looking). In the translucent range it's basically the same story, Tropical Blue A9503-T. Similar hue but lighter than Pantone 7683 C.
