so a body shop called me and asked if i could come down and put some mopar stripes on the hood of a challenger.

No problem. I go down and put them on.

I'm cleaning up and i notice some fingerprints on the stripes, so I put some alcohol on a shop towel and wipe the stripes......

it appeared to leave terrible streaks, then I look at the towel, and it is turning gray!!!! WTF Mopar! The black was actually coming off!

I rubbed oil on it, and it looked fine, but im afraid it will look like crap again soon.

We make our own custom stripe kits for the challenger and mustang and use 3M matte black on the hoods. After the install I always spray it with my iso water mix and wipe it off with no issues.

I have installed some factory stripes from dodge on a few challengers and it definitely seems to be a different type of vinyl.
