You'll get gloss. Finishes aren't additive, whatever the top layer of material is, is the gloss level you'll end up with.
We lam matte vinyl with gloss overlam on a regular basis. I like to heat the top roller a bit to help the adhesive flow. You should achieve the same results as laminating over gloss vinyl. You may see a little more silvering than you would with gloss vinyl, but it'll go away.
we use matte vinyl and a gloss lam all the time. the matte for us prints much better than gloss, the gloss is alittle grainer so we use a matte and get great results.
