Mimaki cg 130fx plotter not printing correctly on 10ml

Hello All,

This is so frustrating. We're trying to cut out lots of holes for components on a 10ml polycarbonate. And it's not lining up right. We suspect that because the material is heavy, that it creates lag and throws the cutting off. Is there something we're missing? How can we fix this? Your insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Wayne & Michelle

10 mil is right at the edge of acceptable vinyl thickness for that machine. The weight will definitely affect the accuracy of the cut. Try rolling out the material before you cut it to give it less tension. Also, you could try changing the pinch rollers but it's not a guarantee it will help anything. Make sure you are using a 60 degree blade as well and change the offset setting on your cutter to match the blade.

Also with the thicker/heavier materials you sometimes have to slow the speed down so that you get less slippage from the pinch rollers when moving. Just make sure that you do some test cuts after changing the speed. Typically the blade pressure has to be adjusted slightly when changing the speed any great amount. good luck.
