mimaki jv3 magenta empty over night?

Solventinkjet

DIY Printer Fixing Guide
You have a pressure or wicking issue. The first thing to check it that the magenta waste tube is not submerged in the waste tank ink. If it is, that will create a siphon effect which pulls the ink through all the way. Next, check the cap top for any kind of fuzz or part of the sponge is sticking up too high over the cap top rubber. If there is a little fuzz in there that can touch the head, it creates a wicking effect which pulls the ink through all the way. Change the dampers if they are older than a year or two. If everything looks good and the dampers are new, you most likely need to change the pump. It may just be partially clogged. This would cause the ink to not drain properly from the tubes and can cause a siphon as well. Take a syringe and flush the pump tubes all the way to the waste tank. If that doesn't help, change the pump.

You may have had a bad cartridge as well. Check with the manufacturer if they have had any bad lots recently.

Alright I changed capping station and dampers. Its still doing it. How do I flush the pump with the syringe? Leave the head on the capping and pull ink out of the waste? Or move the head off the capping and pull from the waste?

Now the black is doing it. And they are in seperate pumps. I'm stumped and not sure what Is causing this? Capping and dampers are new.

I remember quite a few threads about this over the last few years. Do a search of posts by artbot; seems like he participated in many/most of them. I don't have the time right now or I'd find them for you. Maybe later tonight.

also, if you ever pull a vacuum at the waste line when pulling ink manually, the carriage has to be moved momentarily to the left to break the tension of the ink flowing through. otherwise this can empty a cart' in fifteen minutes.

Could It be a capping calibration issue? With the caps being to tall? Is their a height adjustment for the capping station? Or even the head?(other then thick to thin) mimaki jv3 75spii
