Mimaki Jv300-160_Mimaki ES3 - ICC Profiles

Has anyone nailed down a good ICC profile for Orajet 3651 RA on Mimaki Jv300-160 using ES3 inks. We've been running this machine for awhile and its frustrating that these inks are never tested on this machine with any material really. We're doing a project that requires us to outsource some of the materials and we need a consistency with the Pantone colors. Anyone running Mimaki with ES3 inks that could share some settings or profiles would be much appreciated. I've attached a screenshot of the settings I was looking for on the Mimaki site. Thanks!

Maybe you are mistaken in looking for just an ICC profile?

Mimaki calls their machine / ink / media setups “device profiles” and that term they use could be confusing, for sure. The ICC profile is just a component of the “device profile” setup. Settings for workflow, hardware, resolution, ink restrictions, gray balance calibration, ink limits, etc., being among other components. Any ICC output profile, to be accurate, is dependent upon what those particular settings are.

Are you able to calibrate your setup to print lighter on this material?

You might call your Mimaki dealer or a specialist if you don’t already have the hardware, software, knowledge, and time to create your own profiles.

If you want to hit Pantone colors with accuracy and consistency you have to make your own profiles. It's as simple as that. There are a few work arounds that work fairly well like printing out Pantone charts and then manually matching colors by eye but if you want to be able to select a Pantone swatch in illustrator and have it print exactly like a Pantone color, you have to profile yourself.

With SS21 ink we use the Orafol 3165GRA profile on 3651. We don't have anything critical to match but the colors were pretty off when we tried the canned 3651 through rasterlink.
