Mimaki or Roland

The new VS640 has upgraded flanges and seven pinch rollers, but I dont know how it compares to the Mimaki.

FWIW the JV33-160 has 20 sets of two rollers, so 40 total rollers on the media, spaced about 1.5". It helps grab and pull heavy or stubborn material and really helps minimize or completely eliminate media buckling.

Make sure you account for the takeup system. I believe the Mimaki comes with a takeup system. You have to buy the Roland extra.

Overall, I think the Roland XC-540 is the best printer on the market under $30K.

Once you go over that amount, it really is determined on what you are trying to print and how fast.
