Mimaki plotter showing ERROR0036

I just tried to plot a printed decal with crop marks. After initialization, I tried to get the OPS system to locate the crop marks and after finding the first mark the plotter buzzes, and thorough an error code 0036.

Anyone have an idea what might be wrong??

oh boy. your crop marks are not the right size under settings. so, if you make a 6mm crop mark in your program and try to cut it, the machine needs to be set for the same size. don't know why, but that is what i have to do to mine...

I have the crop marks preset @ 10mm on the four corners in the original set up that goes to my printer.
Are you saying that the plotter is rejecting the Mimaki presets for crop marks?

UP DATE:

I think in my case I found the issue.

When I set up the layout in Illustrator, I placed the bounding box used to set the OPS corner marks TO CLOSE to a piece of the artwork. This resulted in the OPS system picking up this artwork, and interpreting it as part of the corner locating crop marks. I cut these extra pieces out on several of my pieces by hand to eliminate the OPS confusion, and WAH LA the plotter works correctly.

Lesson to self [and others] NEVER place artwork to close to crop marks.

You should buy a Roland. Mimakis are worthless.

I have had my Mimaki equipment for going on 4.5 YEARS. service calls=2 [both in first year due to my lack of knowledge]. Total parts replaced = 1 [yes that is ONE] print head, and 8 dampers. OH! and one docking station. ALL self serviced thank you.

I recond one Roland printer prior to getting my Mimaki equipment and then sold it.

Final equation:

ROLAND:= decent machine
MIMAKI: = Fantastic Equipment

tomence reviews: = WORTHLESS!:ROFLMAO:

stick to what you KNOW! not what you think. {oops, I failed to follow my own advise}
