Mimaki Profile Master Pro II

Howdy Everyone,

I work for a non-profit hacker space in Chicago and we acquired a CJV30-160 last year along with Raster Link 5. I would love to get some profiles set-up for the media that we carry in house for members and was wondering if anyone out there had any ideas of how to get a copy of Profile Master Pro II . I have not been able to track down anything aside from the most recent version, which is sadly out of the price range for an organization such as ours. Any help getting pointed in the right direction would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

Had some luck using an iStudio (formerly XRite, now Calibrite) colorimeter and using it to make decent profiles that I then shuffled into RasterLink. Checking my box full of Mimaki software to see if I have one. Happen to need 30 RasterLink 6 dongles while I am at it?

I think these might be it? Might just be profiles in general though.

How did you use your i1studio to inject ICC profiles into rasterlink media profiles?

Thank you for your reply. Might you know of a possible way to do this with Rasterlink 5? It
does not have the quality tab you mention.

Oldest I have used was 6, and since they made RasterLink 7 under $50, we went exclusively to it. Though, it lacks support for older printers.

If you know, could you please tell me how you injected an icc profile in Rasterlink 6?

I use RasterLink 7, but it's just installed with the profile manager, then I go to quality and set it to the ICC profile with the Color Matching settings.

We are using Rasterlink 7. For large/long wall graphics, what kind of a proof do you give to your customers? One big image? Is there a way to get the proof from Rasterlink, or do you crop to size elsewhere (photoshop, Corel, AI?)?

As of late, I've been repairing printers more than printing. Most prints are small repetitive prints, so we just did a quantity of 1-2 as a sample for approval. For large prints, we just scaled them way down and did 'postcard' samples.

Were the postcards physical samples you gave to the customer? Is there a way to get a PDF out of Rasterlink to use as a proof?

I just go to the layout page in RasterLink and scale it to whatever size needed before printing samples. We tend to avoid anything Adobe format-wise.

We're contour cutting letters on our UCJV300-160 after printing. The lines making up sharp corners of letters and other shapes are not connecting, and the overall cutting quality is less than I hoped for. Any suggestions to get better performance?
