A little bit about myself,

I'm based in Cape Town, South Africa. Been in the printer industry for 20 years, technical & sales. Recently become a owner of my own business, got a bit tired of making the man rich with my experience.

Found this amazing site after being able to provide Mimaki to Africa. I also provide the Canon(Ocè), Epson and Hp Wideformat printers with SLA's. Biggest income is in the copiers, providing Canon, Hp & Minolta with SLA's.

Nathan,

If you play your cards right, you'll get knowledgeable info on Mimaki printers from Mimaki Resellers as well as Mimaki present or past End Users. You remind me a bit of the man in the long trenchcoat opening it up to display mutiple brands of watches...pick your poison. For many sign applications, the Mimaki comparable to the Hp Latex and the Epson SureColor will work just fine. Biggest consideration might be which printer sale generates YOU the most income? If you currently sell HP Latex and Epson Sure Color, I'm betting your best success with Mimaki might be the Mimaki FX200 series flatbed which is priced right, very nice quality, and a workhorse. I have had more customers demand HP Latex or Epson SureColor than Mimaki EcoSolvent roll printers. Good luck selling.

Thanks for your reply Robert,
As mentioned i have now become a Mimaki reseller and sold 2 today. The Mimaki UCJV 160 & UCJV 300, brought my specialist along to the meeting and sat back. I then sold him a Canon IMAGEPRESS C910. My coat is working out perfectly and way to much poison not to dabble.
