Misalignment while cutting

My print & cut alignment is fine, but when the actual cut happens, the beginning of the cut doesn't meet up with the end, so I get a step in my cut. Any ideas?

the pinch rollers are slipping a bit. check they're clean & not worn. slow down cutting speed & nurse vinyl thru cutter..might help

What machine are you using? Wouldn't hurt to do an Enviormental Match and check the Linear Encoder Strip while you're at it...

Check your cut strip...then install a new blade...check your blade holder....
It's not a encoder strip if your print is printing well... stair stepping is the indicator of a bad encoder. Also, check for flat spots on your pinch wheels...replace if questionable ($62.50/pair) and DO replace BOTH.

what is "stair stepping"? Do you mean banding?
The print quality is fine, It's just the cuts aren't matching up.

the belt is loose that pulls the blade left to right. tighten it up.

Stair stepping is not the same as banding. With stair-stepping the print actually is "moved" in a stair pattern... the edges are not straight but in a stair pattern.
Banding is due to cheap media, dirty/clogged heads, clogged dampers, or wrong profile. There will be light ink passes throughout your print.

I've changed the blade, adjusted the force, and lowered the speed. These are my results. The start & end of the cut do NOT match up. Any ideas?

tighten the pulleys.. i had the same issue with my plotter. The plunge point would never match up when it finished, it was always off and i had snags. Your gonna need a hex wrench. Mine worked great after i tighten them all and i could cut at full speed and everything aligned great. Hope this helps
