Being a grandpa is more fun than working
No clue here....but the original designer should have known better than to skin-cut and paint lettering in this type of granite. V-sunk lettering in panels...or...polished edge in panels...or...frosted edge...or...deep-cut outline would have been maintenance-free for the life of the monument.
