More then us -- problem with Latex 630????

We purchased an HP Latex 630 in April 2024. Since then, there have been issues... The printer freezes, displays error codes on the screen, does not accept files from the RIP software, the maintenance box jams causing the print heads to clog with ink and need replacement (happened twice), and there is squeaking from the collection feed, among other issues.

Are there others experiencing the same problems?

you didn't pay them in full did you? we do not sign off on payment until a device is printing to the advertised specs for a set amount of time (operating for 1-4 weeks depending on device- if all else fails, the net30/60 gives excuse to hold funds).... we let them know in the original contract as such (you know you can write your own contract with them, right?). If you have paid for the printer already then they have less incentive to fix it quickly. I have also heard that of leasing companies going after the manufacturer - installing a non-functioning device (or not fixing a device under contract) is usually a violation of the loan terms. (I guess the banks want the printer to be able to make money so they can be repaid....)

No, for the first time in my business life, I actually haven't paid. I have withheld the payment and am still doing so. I have asked them to come up with a solution, it's December now (we received the printer in April) and we still haven't paid, the printer still has issues...

And the funny thing is that I haven't even had to sign any purchase contract... However, I feel lost about what I should agree to. The supplier Antalis is coming on Wednesday to try to resolve the situation. They have already hinted that they think we should pay part of the amount since we have used and are using the printer. Do you have any advice?

Sounds like the mainboard (formatter) needs to be replaced. There have been some small quirks in the early firmware versions, but not what you describe. Squeeking of the rewinder unwinder mechanics can be solved with a bit of grease most of the time.

Låter som moderkortet (formateraren) måste bytas ut. Det har funnits några små egenheter i de tidiga firmwareversionerna, men inte vad du beskriver. Klämning av avrullningsmekaniken kan lösas med lite fett för det mesta.

Maybe I want to remember that they changed it once. Without success. We had a technician here who replaced some circuit boards.

Big Nate certainly has a point.
you need to show you are acting in good faith, if you expect them to, but the phrase car dealers use, describing leasing is “paying for the portion of the car that you have used” (what portion of work INTENDED to be printed ON THAT PRINTER was successfully completed? At what cost in wasted materials?

it certainly seems that 8 months is a long time to get the bugs out of a new machine
