Who can tell me the letters most commonly used for initial first names? I need to put together a set and dont know the frequency of letters in a normal set of abc's.

It's better to have two hands than one glove.
etaoin shrdlu is also what you get when you clear a line of botched type on a Linotype machine by running your fingers down the first two vertical rows of keys in order to finish the line and kick it out of the machine. Back in the days of hot type.
Every now and then the erroneous slug would not be removed and lines ending in etaoin shrdlu etaoin shrdlu... would appear in print.
