Moving from Florida to Utah

OK my question... any tips on how to handle vinyl application in extremely cold weather. Even masking tape acts different here. I know rule of thumb is to take the vehicle or whatever inside....but sometimes that is just not possible...for instance I had to letter a oilfield tanker bigger than a house.....i had to do exterior installation out in the middle of a field without access to power. I moved here from Florida not too long ago and I am still getting used to how vinyl is in very cold weather.....I am used to dealing with vinyl melting to the vehicles in Florida....not chipping off like it does here.....I have used a heat gun more in the last few months than I have ever used one before..............it is cold in Utah!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for your luck on the move (If I ever move it will be to warmer weather and not colder).

Not much help on the cold weather conditions either, sorry.

I've never had to use it myself, but there is rapid tac 2, supposed to help with cold weather apps. Maybe also invest in a few propane tanks and various heat elements, a weed burner (or bertha tool), a 2 burner heater and things like that. It will help you warm the surface and also help keep you warm while working.

Working in the cold is very not fun to do. Good luck!

It really hasn't been all that cold here yet. But it will be.

Heat guns and torches.
Bless your poor frozen fingers having to work outdoors in the winter snow.

Yes....people who are from Utah or this area basically laugh at me and tell me I haven't seen anything yet.............can't wait!!!!!!

It was quite a shock when we moved here from Arizona. I grew up here (and Tahoe), but this is my first year here since childhood. I am a fly-fisherman, so this is paradise for me, but the cold will take some getting used to. There are more sign/wrap shops here than I thought. Maybe I should get my butt out and meet some of you folks!

Unsure about Vernal, Salt Lake gets quite a bit of snow. Where I live in Utah (Wendover) we get a little bit of snow, but it rarely sticks, but we are kind of protected by mountains and stuff, I80 30 miles east or west of us can get very nasty though.

Hahaha Roger cracks me up.. spray the vinyl, spray the trailer, spray the transfer tape, shoot a little more.... spray your boots and the trailer tires, fill your radiator with it.... poor a little out for your dead Homies... you can always head out to Glantz and get some more.

At least you have beautiful mountains. Here in Nebraska our winters are COLD and snowy, and all we have to look at is empty corn fields!!!!!! Well we do have some pretty wooded bluffs on my farm, but the rest of the state SUCKS!!!!!!

If you ever get a chance get up to Valentine NE.. very Pretty up there.. They even have a Mountain.. Kinda. Right on the Nibroa River. But the winters were NASTY.. Our house didn't have any windows on the North side ans I couldn't figure out why.. Then winter came.. I found out why.. Had snow all the way up to the roof. I thought Colorado was bad with snow.
