MUTOH 1304 Rainbow Banding - Any Thoughts??

Please see the pics below. The banding is up and down the length of the prints. It is random, sometimes very noticeable sometimes less. Sometimes there will be one very strong band, sometimes just many equally bad across a print. We replaced the encoder strip, cleaned the rollers, etc. The print head is new. Not sure what there is left to check or do. Any help is appreciated.

I think thats called chromatic banding. bust a search using that.

Sorry, but I don't have a clue. However, I'll bet if you were trying to get that effect..... you couldn't.
