hi Mutoh Valuejet expert there .

I recently change a new printhead and being getting hairline printout on the edge . I using the media profile that matches the gloss vinyl . In each case it seems to be worse on the side nearest to the head docking station and end ( NO 1 and 3 ) And seem better at the center ( NO 2 )

I’ve attached some pics below for reference

I’m very new to digital printing and I hope that someone here can help.

Hi roland, I bought from a china machine parts dealer. As far as I know, there is there are no rank number. Does the number affect the printout.

I have a Roland printer that uses DX4 heads.

As it was explained to me by a Roland tech, the heads are put onto a calibration device, and the head rank numbers are this calibration. So without the numbers your head may not be printing optimally.

Another thing he said was there are some heads that are not good. These B-Stock heads get dumped and sold in China, usually without rank numbers.

On the other hand, some users here have installed heads without rank numbers and say they print fine. Hopefully a Mutoh user will help out.

The previous 2pcs DX5 china head need to go through a decoder. It's works fine. It's just that the epson stop production. This 3rd head no need decoder, but need to convert the 35p to 31p cable.
Was figuring out is it the head problem or other problem that cause this.
