Mutoh 1604

Please help. I just bought a brand new head for my VJ1604. It is a Epson part number: F1870000030. The printer is not accepting it. It is RJ 9000 water base head. I have change the head manifold to eco solvent. But the is not accepting the head. Please let me know why it is not accepting the head.

Hi,
When install the head it say on the display panel " Head heat error".

Did you replace the head cable when installing the new head?
I have heard also that the Mutoh head cables are a much better item than after market ones.

I have had a water based head on my my 1604 but it was not new and blocked more than the one it replaced.

I bet you reversed the cables to the head...Switch 'em around and start printing...

I had to deal with this Saturday. I can say that this is the fix.

It is not easy to mess the flatcables, but its first thing to check.

Sorry for late response, Put mutoh original head cable but still the same error. head heater error.

Try to put old head back in.
if it will start-your new head is dead.
