Mutoh Color shifting

anyone else see this? its happening a ton to us lately. the first about 6' of the first panel we print is always a different hue than the rest. you notice it when you go to line the panels up. typically has a more red tone to it. you can see it actually progressing to what its should be as you go up the panel.

its REALLY annoying as we have had to litteraly waste the first panel of every print job.

any thoughts as to what would cause this? never had it happen before.

hmm. didnt even think of that. i was wondering if it was because its so hot here now that as the printer sits overnight, that maybe the ink was doing something bad.

That happens to us every now and then... I've traced it back to ink starvation issues. Unclogging the vacuum lines seems to clear ours up.

Temperature MAY cause MINOR variations in color.

Major variations are usually due to using ink faster than it can go through the dampers.

There are filters in the dampers.
As these start to clog you can print well slowly or as describe for a certain distance.
Then as you continue, you are trying to use more ink than will pass through the partially clogged filters in the dampers.

Replacing dampers will solve this problem.
