Need Help mutoh value jet help

Hey guys,

I have a mutoh value jet 1324 that I've been getting used to using. It has always printed colors that look very rough or not smooth? Almost grainy. I have checked feed and head alignment, nozzle check is awesome no missed nozzles, fresh ink as well. any tips on what could cause this?

Do you have a photo of the rough output?
If the nozzle check and head alignments are good seems like it would most likely be a profiling issue.
List up the software you are using - the profiles and the materials you are having issues with.

I am using SAI Flexi, I have tried just about every profile out there and don't see a whole lot of improvement, im using a 3m cast wrap and an Arlon calendared wrap material. I attached a picture, hopefully you can see the grainy effect I am explaining. My blacks look good.

I'm running a 1624 and use the profile for IJ180 from here:
Mutoh & PrismJET Profiles: Download and Installation – SignWarehouse Tech Support
720x720 Graphics 2, heat pre 38, plat 32, dry 50.
Drop the setting for the total ink limits from 100% down to 94-96 and get good color saturation and clean edges.
Profiles for the 1324 should be about the same - give them a shot if you have not already.

Sometimes if the heat settings are too high it can really affect the print quality. When I first got my Mutoh (10 years ago) I had to adjust my heater settings and it helped a lot.

Ok I am going to get to work on it today and try the recommendations, thanks guys! I will report back once I test it all!

is it just one file or all files.
did you make sure the head height is set to low.
try a print on bidirectional and unidirectional.

grainy print its how they are,(roland, mutoh, mimaki,..) to eliminate or make less grainy, like others said before, profiles and rip, personally i didnt like flexi at all, but that was years ago, maybe now its different.With onyx and caldera, colorgate,... i felt it was more control and realibility
i would try
- lower speed
- unidirectional
- higher pass
- higher resolution
- make profile, lots and lots of differnet options
