The only factory authorized method of turning off the smart cards to to retrieve an MPI file from your printer using an app called MSA. We then send the MPI to Mutoh and they generate a ULK file, which we reinstall with MSA. It disables the readers for an allocated amount of time. Since Mutoh no longer sends out smart cards on a regular basis, this is the best method for dealing with smart card errors.

I have a 1324 that has the chip bypass installed and running. Free to a good home if you can pick it up. Also has take up reel. Switch to latex a few years back and it's not used anymore. In northern CT.
