Mutoh VJ 1204 - Cover Open Error

My company was just given a Mutoh VJ 1204 however it currently isn't working. It gives the error Cover Open even though the cover is on.

Has anyone else encountered this error? Any solutions you can recommend? I am not having much luck finding anything on this issue.

It recognizes the cover by some sensors at the end. if you look at your cover, it has tabs that go into the slots. if you broke a tab off, it won't recognize the cover down.

The fix IF you broke your tab, is to tape or glue it back on. Or find a way to keep it compressed 24/7 so it always recognizes the cover down

I just checked and it still has both tabs. I tried pressing both of the sensors down with a pencil to see if it would clear the error but was not sucessful. It is still beeping and the display still has Cover Open.

Any other suggestions? Is there a way to disable those sensors?

Turn off. Unplug for 1 minute, try to boot up. Sounds dumb but it has cleared error codes on past Mutohs

If you have cleaning swabs shove them in both sides
Don't just unplug from wall, unplug from machine for 5 minutes.
If neither works then I would start by tracing the wires from both sensors to see if there is a loose connection

sounds like one of the finger switches are broken. You would need to open machine and test switches.

open the machine and disconnect and bridge the wires from the switches or buy 2 new switches
