Mutoh VJ 1204 new issues with it.

Hi, Can some help me to figure out, Question 1: what is causing these spray drops when I am printing solid on adhesive vinyl. See attached pictures. Please advised. Question #2: For past few day another problem I am facing? 5 days ago I lost cyn ink in my both cyn damper and it was full with black ink. I had suck it out by syernage and then did 5 or 6 times cleaning and got back cyn ink back. after 2 days later same thing happen with yellow and magenta. Did the same procedure and got back the right inks. Can some explain why this is happen. I will appreciate the help very much. see attached pictures for question #1. Mutoh VJ 1204.

Have you printed on that vinyl before? Looks like some bad material.....its not allowing the ink to bite down into it causing it to puddle to areas where it will.

On the ink issue, sounds like a bad seal between your manifold and print head. Just my 2cents.

I would say it is a silicon contamination problem which makes the ink not stick and creates this effect.
If it is a new roll I would roll out 2-3' and try again.
If it carries on I would send the material back as I have had this problem all the way through a roll before and it was a manufacturing defect.

Your heaters could also be too hot. I had a similar outcome (not as bad as yours). The heaters being too hot made it look splotchy. I lowered the heat and problem solved.

Issue #1: Could be contaminated or dirty media. The simplest way to check this is to use a different roll and check for consistency.e

Issue #2: Replace your dampers. They contain a one-way valve that can be compromised and allow ink contamination across colors.
