I have a 1204 that I am tweaking and of course hit the ink end on the yellow. Is there any way to temporarily bypass the chip reader or ignore the end ink warning?

Ink end is just what it is. You don't want to run the line dry. Get a new cart. Good little machines if you can get the parts - I had one for years.

Once the chip is labeled as ink end, it is permanent. If there is a large amount of ink in the cartridge still and it was triggered in error, buy a new card and slap it on there. That will get you going. If the cartridge is actually empty, you need to get a new one. Slapping a card on an empty cart will just flag the new card as empty too.
