I have a brand new 1641SR.
Very few profiles out there for this machine!
But what profiles I have found all print light blues and greens with a mottled, faded visual appearance.
Very unattractive.
Anyone know a solution?
TIA!!!

Pretty sure the guy who installed it to you knows. Why not bother him until it's fixed.
But other than that you may just need to take the spectro in your hand and start profiling. Pretty usual stuff.

Which RIP software are you using?

Have you looked on Mutoh's public FTP? There are about 20 on there if you haven't.

Yes, I have all the profiles found there.
- Nothing there for Magic Paper ( https://www.magicinkjet.com/ ) for high res photographic which we had very well dialed in on their profiles for the 1624.
Fellers support was very responsive, put me in touch with Mutoh USA and Mutoh is now working with the manufacturer of Magic paper to get some profiles developed for the 1641.
Cautiously optimistic that we will have some high res profiles for paper & vinyl soon.

I found all the profiles to be a bit washed out even when using their Vertelith Software. I used the i1i0 to create all new profiles for the substrates that i use. You may find that the ink density of your cyan is running a little light. All materials react to the ink differently and the same with your heat settings. Id suggest to create your own profile for the stock your using.

Unfortunately Mutoh doesnt have the profiles that epson, roland etc have available.

I’d guess you’re talking about an SR Pro. Download the latest profiles through the VerteLith Downloader and make sure you’re at 1.07 firmware. Only use profiles that end in V3. The MS-41 generics are the best. My go-to is the 900x1200 quality cast v3. Also be sure you’re at least on VerteLith 7.3 or 7.4.

All stock profiles i tested are good in terms of colour precision but very ink conservative. I had to do a dozen or so for all materials with lot of ink so i can make vibrant colours even on canvas (just dont print 6pt fonts, etc, since bleeding may ocur) Just dm me with an email and i send to you

It's better to have two hands than one glove.
What flavor of files are you sending, CMYK or RGB?
To what are your Rendering Intents set? I printed for twenty some years using exactly one, as in one, profile. An Oracal 3651G profile, 8 pass if memory serves, from Oracal for virtually all media, with one notable exception. I modified the profile in this way:

Change all rendering intents, except Bitmap, to "No Color Correction", or "Saturation" if "No Color Correction" is unavailable on your tackle.
Change the Bitmap rendering intent to "Perceptual".
Change the dither and gradient algorithms, if available, to the highest possible setting.
Send all bitmap objects as RGB, not CMYK.
Send everything else as whatever color space it happens to be.

This setup has, for me anyway, has yielded the closest to what you see is what you get as I've ever had.

Your mileage may vary.
