Mutoh1204 banner profile using more ink?

Ok, I know I've seen a topic on this somewhere but now I can't find it anywhere so sorry for the repeat question. I've got a couple dozen banners to print this weekend and I have been using the mutoh all in one profile for pretty much everything with good success. However, I'm needing a faster speed for printing these banners. They are for firework tents and will be seen from the road. I printed one banner using a banner 4 profile, which I believe is the fastest speed possible. But it seemed to lay down more ink than normal. My question is, do the banner 2 and banner 4 profiles use more ink? If so, what is the fastest I can print without over saturating my material? I don't want it to take a couple days for them to dry. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :thumb:

Not sure what RIP software you're using, so not what these profiles translate to in regards to resolution or number of passes. In general, higher quality profiles use more ink - a 720dpi profiles uses less ink than a 1440dpi profile. Also, more passes, uses more ink. So if you're printing banners to only be used from a distance you could go down to one of the lower resolution (540 or 360) settings and it will use less ink, print faster and still look fine from a distance.

Sorry I forgot to include that. Im using Flexi and the settings for the banner profile are: Bidirectional, 4 pass, wave 1, 720x720

Quit buggin' me
In the Production Manager go to the color adjustment tab and step the output (All) down from 100% to around 90% - check for color shift.
Depending on the layout there should be no noticeable change. Step it up or down until you have a good balance between ink use and color quality.
I run 4pass 720x720 at 90% (33,37,50) on gloss 13oz. banner (VJ1304) for almost all of the banners I do.
They print quickly and are dry enough to finish right off the take up reel with very little extra dry time.
Mine stay up outside just 30-60 days at a time and I have had no issues.
