The organization governs all levels of soccer in the country, including the national teams, professional leagues, and the amateur game. With over 13 million Americans playing soccer in the United States, soccer is the third most played team sport in the U.S., behind only basketball and baseball/softball.[SUP][1][/SUP] The popularity of soccer in the U.S. has been growing since the 1960s and 1970s, and received a significant boost when the United States hosted the 1994 World Cup

Soccer? The game where two teams play for endless hours, riots ensue, governments are overthrown, and at the end of those endless hours of turmoil and scampering up and down a field, the score is something like 1 to 0? Watch that soccer? I'd rather be beaten with chains.

I don't know. "Bloody Sunday" would have been too much excitement for me.

In all honesty, Baseball was more of my sport, but I stopped that after the strike in the early 90s. I have no idea who is who nowadays.
