Mylar

Does anyone have any experience with installing mylar to vehicle windshields? I just had a customer call and ask about it and I have never done anything with the material. A quick search tells me it is a protective plastic sheeting. They want to put it on their equipment windshields...

Any info out there? Thanks in advance!

Putting it on glass or clear acrylic or polys, it usually yellows rather badly. Then, it's a bear to remove.

If they are worried about scratching it might be better to make the windshields out of Lexan MR10 with MarGard. Everything from drag vehicles to roundy racers uses it with great success.

In lieu of that what about an optically clear laminate?

Could always get the full windshield tear-offs like Nascar uses.

PPF on a windshield?

I'm just typing out loud...
