need a little help please sp300v

I cleaned my encoder strip and still cant get machine to find vinyl length after several attempts,now all of a sudden printer is telling me to close door so ink wont dry the door is closed,opened and closed several times still printer doesn't know door is closed I could really use some input asap afraid heads will dry please n thank you

keep calm and grab a beer, if the encoder strip is clean like you said, then next thing to check for will be encoder reader, as far as the door being open if you remove the right side cover there is a sensor on the upper section sometimes if the cover is not sitting properly will give you that open door message and for the heads getting dry that wouldn't happen unless you unplug the printer or turn off the main power

thank you the beer was calming,and you fixed the door, I ordered a new strip, the only problem is now is it takes anywhere from 5 to 10 times to read vinyl length, once it's picked up everything is fine, print cut ect..
will see what happens in a few days when strip gets here, any tips on replacement? looks a little challenging to get behind carrier.

When it won't size the media it's usually the cut carriage cable that needs to be replaced.

x2 on the cable. take the cover off the bar that the head runs on and look for wear spots on the cable.

it does seem like it skips or hesitates for a split second around the same spot while its going across .
