need guidance for large one color helmet decal

This project is to make yellow ram horns for football helmet.

Here is my idea to make this happen.
1 get yellow vinyl and cut the horn out.
2. Laminate with a 12 to 15 mil.
3. Add adhesive to the back of it.

I figured it would be better than priniting yellow on mad dog clear reverse and adding the adhesive. Since they are so large it would take a lot of ink and the decals are large.

Any tips before I head in the direction I'm going ?

Let me try that again, i can see how thats confusing.

1. The idea is to cut the horn out of yellow vinyl.
2. Apply the vinyl to the convex reverse material (instead of printing yellow on it). http://www.hyatts.com/sign/convex-reverse-print-clear-3.3924

Might just for get the cut vinyl part and just printed though.

How large can they be?

11 inch X 11 inch. Looking at this again, since its a horn that wraps. Might just be easier to print and save the vinyl cut, remove and add. Seems like to much labor to save ink.

I could paint that in about a half hour for a cost of about $5 to myself.
See if you can sub it out to someone who paints or airbrushes.
