I have a couple of windows about a block from me that would like to disagree. We are using the clear VHB tape, I find not enough folks spec which they are using.

You are correct.

Boss doesn't allow VHB for glass installation, however. He wants all our ADA signs removable with "piano wire," because we remove and replace so many of them.

But you're right. VHB is forever. I once tried to remove quarter-inch aluminum letters from an eighth-inch aluminum background. It was impossible. Using chisels and a 3-pound hammer, we only succeeded in penetrating the background in numerous places rather than dislodging the letters.
