need help removing this background so it can be printed

Saving as an .eps file?? That's crazy.

Save it as a .jpg ... Import it into Flexi. Create a path following the edges then take your vector shape (that is supposed to be overtop the .jpg), then mask it.

Or get Photoshop and do it with just a few clicks.

This is pretty simple to do.
