    I have to print a photo, maybe 18" square or so, on some kind of fabric that will be sewn into a memorial quilt. The only thing I have around the shop is some canvas from LexJet which is way too heavy, some PhotoTex which won't work, and some TruColor Flag material which is way too light, too loose a weave and prints like crap.

    I don't want to buy a roll of some media or another, odds are I'll never need it again. Besides, this is a charity job and I'm not excited about spending a lot of money for media.

    Any ideas as to what media would work, some cotton-like material, and if can I get a short, as in short, roll or perhaps even a sample.

    Most of the fabrics print all pissed out looking. Ultraflex makes several that print well. You may be able to get a small sample roll;
    UltraPoplin PES C240

    I will second the 2 ultraflex fabrics mentioned above. Also, they will ship samples rolls that are typically 30"ish x 15'

    fisher textiles is a joke in my opinion, they just buy everyones left over crap and put their name on it. Ultraflexx is a way better option then fisher!

    BigfishDM, these folks may be able to help you with an appropriate sample roll: Top Value (Indianapolis), Value Vinyls (Texas), and Aurora/Northern Lights
