I will put a cutting mat over it. So yes, I would seam two plywood. But If I buy a 4x8, I will have 3 seems then. I've never heard of puckboard. Do you have a link or a supplier that sell this?Could you seam the plywood then get a 5x10 cutting mat for on top? Either that or see if you can get 5x10 sheets of puckboard, that's what we use on most our benches.

can you get formica in any size? like home depot or lowes will cut it to the size you want?We used 3 sheets of 3/4 sandply and put 5x10 of Formica over that. 1 table is just Formica and the other has a cutting mat over the formica.

It's time for us to get a new table. Of course I found one on steel sentry . com...it has all the bells and whistles. I put in for a quote and it's $5000. BUT, they did show specs on what they use. We can definitely build it ourselves. We get it from a cabinet supply company. They have 2 thicknesses and you can get at least 5x12, maybe even 6x12. I said 5x10 by mistake, our tables are 5x12. The sheets aren't very expensive, 100-150 each. They have router bits to trim it, you can't use a regular saw or bit because it chips. Wear safety glasses too, the stuff will shoot sharp bits when you trim it.
