If you can't fit in an outback then i don't think you will fit in a Volvo XC90 either.
From the choices you have given i would buy the Highlander. Ford is overpriced for the quality it offers.

I would by far recommend the Toyota Highlander. We had a 2008 for 3 years and just got rid of it because we needed a Toyota minivan with our expanding family. We bought the Highlander used and had absolutely no problems. The vehicle drives great and I think looks really good. IMO Toyota makes some of the best vehicles on the road. They are well built and run forever with minimal maintenance. Go with the Highlander.
