New Gr Series Plotters

GR Series Large Format Cutter | Roland DGA

That is the brand new release of the Roland GR-Series plotters. It appears it can cut through anything from cardboard to PETG. But there is nothing that gives any examples of what kind of materials it can cut.

Is it possible to contour cut magnets on it? With 600 force, that should be enough to cut 1/16" acrylic, but no details anywhere.

Profane and profane accessories.
Most plotters will cut magnets, so I'm sure it would cut them. Where you run into problems cutting them on anything other than a flatbed is that they tend to want to stick to the parts of the machine that are made of metal and skew the cuts.

Hey ams,

Here's a link to supported materials. GR Series Large Vinyl Cutters Applications. Anything else would need to be tested. You can work with your regional Roland dealer and request for them to test whatever material you need to have tested. Also, FYI, the maximum media thickness for cutting is 1mm.

Roland,

Thanks for the information, it doesn't seem like it's much more useful than our current plotters. We don't do Diamond Grade, cardboard etc here. But glad you guys are coming out with some new machines. I am still waiting for you guys to make a small flatbed printer that prints either 18" X 24" or 48" X 48". That would be a dream!
